General Information about the MA program
We are pleased to announce that the call for application for a new generation of two-year Master of Arts in International Relations has been launched. This programm is an innovative graduate program, taught entirely in English language, devoted to students that have a Bachelor background in Economics, Politics, International Relations, History at large and would like to acquire a specialized in-depth knowledge of the History, Theory and Methodology of International Relations.
This MA program in International Relations combines an academic approach with professional training, forging potential insightful consultants, analysts, while also offering a solid basis for further academic studies at the PhD level.
This MA is designed to develop a new generation of leaders who wants to combine a traditional knowledge of international relations with specific and profound understanding of both Russian domestic and foreign affairs. The graduates of this program are international affairs professionals who will pursue careers in diplomacy, public service, international organizations, and academic institutions.
The MA Program therefore provides students with a range of skills needed to understand the critical issues relating to international security, global governance, and to Russian position in the world politics as well.
Admission Requirements
For Admission to the Master of Arts in International Relations students should have:
1) Bachelor`s (4-year program) or Specialist`s (5-year program) Degree;
2) Application Form (called Portfolio) is submitted via the Web-page of the St. Petersburg State University (www.http://www.spbu.ru/): Applicant"s Personal Account
You can also submit it personally to the Admission Commission located in the St. Petersburg State University, Medeleevskaya street 5.
Finally, you can send the documents by general mail or e-mail: tsvetkoffa@mail.ru
The documents must reach the Admission Commission before 01 August, 2012.
All prospective students are selected through the competition of their applications (Portfolio). The main criteria for selection are educational background, academic and scholarly achievements and essay. The essay must demonstrate your English proficiency and your knowledge of a proposed topic.

Upon your arrival to Saint-Petersburg we need the following documents:
Please, note, that according to the Rules of Russian Federation Migration Service you need to visit International Department on the same working day of your arrival or the next working day (monday-friday) with passport,visa,medical insurance (valid within Russian Federation), migration card.
Also, you will be asked for the following documents before or upon the arrival:
1) Certificate of Equivalence of your Bachelor Diploma from the Ministry of Science and Education of Russian Federation (to be enrolled you need the preliminary report which is made in 3 weeks, we need the certificate of equivalence before 1st February, 2011)
2) Letter from bank, proving student has exact sum of money for the education at the School of International Relations. The tuition fee is 140 000 RUBLES per academic semester.
3) Health insurance valid within Russian Federation
4) 15 passport-size photos
5) Medical certificate which is made at the student health center
6) AIDS-test (valid for 3 months)
7) 2 copies of signed Migration Rules within Russian Federation
